Terms and Conditions

On this page you will find the conditions of use of the services offered by our Institute and information about the terms and timing of payment for services provided by our specialists.

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before accessing any consultation or service, whether in person or online. By accessing or using our services, the user agrees to be bound by these terms and by our Privacy Policy. Services may only be used after understanding and accepting these terms.
Centro di Neurologia, Psichiatria e Psicologia Clinica S.r.l. will hereinafter be referred to as the “Institute.”

  • Please provide the requested information, essential to ensure adequate medical care.

  • We are not an emergency facility. In case of emergency, please go directly to the Emergency Room or call 112 (European Emergency Number).

  • Access to all services is by appointment only and during opening hours.

  • Only one companion per patient is allowed, in compliance with infection prevention safety measures.

  • The Institute is a private center, not affiliated with the National Health Service (SSN) or insurance providers. It does not issue reimbursable prescriptions or Therapeutic Plans.

  • Animals are not allowed, except for certified assistance dogs.

  • Time spent within the Institute must be limited to the appointment schedule.

  • Any damage to premises, objects, or equipment must be compensated.

  • The Institute issues, if necessary, only medical reports from consultations, procedures, and diagnostic tests (not patient-completed materials), exclusively to the patient or a delegate with written authorization and valid ID. Delivery is only in person or via regular e-mail.

  • Delivery of medical reports, certificates, medical notes, prescriptions, and invoices (if issued) is immediate. It is the patient’s responsibility to keep themselves safe. Subsequent copies will only be provided if they are still available.

  • The intended use of evaluations (clinical, insurance, forensic) must be communicated at the time of booking. Prof. Pallanti does not provide forensic assessments or certifications.

  • For minors, the consent of both parents is required; if only one parent is present, proof of exclusive custody must be provided.

  • Requests on behalf of adult patients are not accepted unless made directly by the patient.

  • Driving after consultations or treatments at the Institute is not recommended.

  • The doctor-patient relationship is based on mutual trust: if doubts or lack of trust exist, treatment should not begin. Using our services means understanding benefits and risks and providing full consent.

  • We accept medical documents only in digital format or a photocopy. Documents left by hand or deposited at the Institute will not be kept or returned.

  • Requests (in person, by phone, or e-mail)—including consultations, appointments, certificates, reports, tests, prescriptions, clarifications, and invoice copies—are processed within 7–21 days, unless delays occur. Communications sent through other channels will not be read.

  • During the consultation, clarify every prescription detail (name of drug, dosage, reasons for changes, therapeutic choices). Later requests will be processed within 7–21 days, unless delays occur.

  • The Municipality of Florence offers a service to register license plates for medical visits to access the ZTL (restricted traffic zone). This is an external service: for any issues or fines, patients must contact the relevant municipal office.

  • Before booking, commitment, time, and costs must be carefully considered: treatment may be ongoing and lifelong.

Consultation

  • We provide a neuroscientific approach and innovative treatments, based on methods and tools validated by the latest scientific research. However, as in all medicine, diagnosis cannot be guaranteed, and no treatment is effective for all. Fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome.

  • The first consultation is exploratory. Therapy is gradual and continuous, requiring multiple visits depending on the duration and severity of the disorder. A single cycle of therapy or initial medications is not sufficient.

  • Treatments are valid for a maximum of two months: follow-up appointments must be scheduled within this timeframe (unless otherwise indicated by the doctor).

Therapies

  • Neglected or inadequately treated conditions worsen prognosis.

  • Psychiatric care is a lifelong process. Do not expect recovery after just a few visits or months.

  • After ineffective therapies, it may take 6–8 months just to reduce negative effects.

  • At the beginning, therapy may worsen symptoms; new symptoms may also appear. This transitional phase may last 6–8 months. Initial improvements require appropriate time.

  • The first Neuromodulation cycle is not a “vaccine”: even if symptoms improve, the disorder may persist. Interrupting increases relapse risk; regular follow-ups are necessary for prevention.

  • Improvements vary: they may appear in weeks or take many months. The longer the disorder has lasted, the more time is required.

  • The first Neuromodulation cycle normally lasts at least 30 consecutive days (except Theta-Burst protocols). Follow-up visits, if requested, incur an additional cost. If improvement appears only at the end or not at all, the cycle may be extended.

  • Therapies require constant patient cooperation.

  • Follow-up visits may also be carried out by Prof. Pallanti’s collaborators.

  • Our therapies are not intended to stop substance use: they are for patients who have already decided to quit and remained abstinent for at least 4 weeks.

  • In degenerative diseases (e.g., Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s), therapy aims to slow progression and sometimes reduce medication. Symptoms will still worsen but more slowly than without treatment.

  • If medications or the proposed therapy are refused, alternatives may not be available: in such cases, treatment with Prof. Pallanti cannot continue.

  • Discontinuing care is not an appropriate goal. We only accept patients willing to commit to a continuous, potentially lifelong, therapeutic path.

  • Consistency is necessary to achieve results and maintain continuity of care; otherwise, treatment may be discontinued.

  • If necessary, off-label treatments may be used in accordance with the most recent guidelines and scientific evidence.

Evaluations and prescriptions

  • Instrumental evaluations (EEG, QEEG, ECG) are carried out at the Institute only for therapeutic monitoring and are not diagnostic; therefore, no report is issued.

  • The Institute may prescribe medications available in Italy, the patient bears costs.

  • Off-label prescriptions may be interpreted differently depending on the region and pharmacist. We adhere to national law and regional regulations in Tuscany. If one pharmacy does not accept the prescription, we advise trying another.

  • For privacy reasons, reports and documents are delivered only to the patient with ID or to a delegate with authorization and ID. Results are not given over the phone. Delivery is only in person or by regular e-mail.

Payment and billing

  • All services are subject to fees: consultations, therapies, tests, evaluations, certificates, reports, prescriptions, phone/online consultations, requests for documents after time has passed, clarifications about prescriptions, and cover letters for invoices.

  • Fees cover professional expertise, scientific updates, time spent (including outside consultations), and use of facilities and equipment. They do not guarantee treatment results. Payments are non-refundable.

  • Invoices cannot be modified: any insurance wording must be requested before issuance.

  • Invoices are issued according to Italian law. Cover letters with specific wording may incur an extra cost and the text must be provided by the patient.

  • No refunds or discounts are provided for services interrupted due to force majeure, lack of patient cooperation, or events outside the Institute’s control.

  • Cancellations must be made at least 5 days in advance; otherwise, no refund is provided. Refunds may take up to 60 days.

  • By booking an appointment or accessing our services, the patient fully acknowledges and accepts the information provided in this document regarding the services offered.

  • The undersigned or their representative declares full capacity to understand and consent, and voluntarily, explicitly, and unequivocally acknowledges having read and understood the information provided by the Institute of Neurosciences regarding the services offered.
